The University of Ghana offers several forms of financial aid, including:
Open to undergraduate Ghanaian students with financial need.
Covers full or partial tuition and/or other academic costs.
Can be renewed each year if you maintain good academic performance.
Based on income level of student or sponsor.
Supports tuition fees and basic academic needs.
For first-year UG students studying Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
Funded by an Italian foundation.
Covers tuition, residential fees, and academic materials.
For postgraduate students (especially those doing MPhil or PhD).
Covers tuition, research, and living costs.
Includes possible exchange opportunities in Germany.
Some departments or colleges offer their own donor-funded scholarships (e.g., College of Basic and Applied Sciences, College of Health Sciences).
Each scholarship has its own criteria, but generally, you must:
Be a Ghanaian student enrolled at the University of Ghana
Show evidence of financial hardship
Be academically good standing (usually GPA 2.5 or above)
Be a regular (not fee-paying) student
Provide valid supporting documents

You may need to provide the following:
Completed financial aid application form
Recent academic transcript
WASSCE certificate (for Level 100 students)
Parent/guardian income documents
Proof of family situation (e.g., medical bills, orphan certificate)
Recommendation letters (pastor, teacher, community leader)
Student ID and passport-sized photo
